We went here before their normal season starts. Self pay and very peaceful.
My daughter wanted to go to it'asca state park and do some camping and fishing. She found this place and made reservations over Father's Day weekend. She also wanted to fish leech lake so I made reservations on the only day they had available which was Sunday at 8:00 am. This is a 45 minute drive
The campground seemed nice and clean. I had the handicap site so it was convenient to the office store and shower they had a nice dock and people were enjoying volleyball the beach etc .

So when I checked in I mentioned that I would not be back until 1:30 or 2:00. I was told that they have a checkout time of 12:00. I asked for and was expecting some flexibility in the checkout time. What I got was two stern looking women telling me that it should be light enough at 5:00 am for me to see too pull down my camp site. (As I needed to leave by 6:30 am to get to leech lake fishing launch on time) my campsite took an hour to pull down and put away. It seemed unreasonable to me to have to get up this early.
We have reunions here every year. Thank you guys for keeping such a beautiful leisure place
Great facilities and staff. Close to Itasca too.
How about going the extra mile for the customer. Don't get me wrong. These ladies were helping the customers as needed. If this is mandated from owners or management to be this inflexible with checkout times then they need a refresher course on customer service.

I enjoyed my Father's Day weekend with my adult daughter but I am left with a feeling that I got screwed by having to pay for an extra day when no one would be there. How about some flexibility
I left after speaking to these two ladies and set up my campsite but it bothered me to run into this kind of customer service inflexibility , but if there was a reservation for Sunday evening well that's the way it goes. I went back to the campground office and asked if there was a Sunday night reservation and I was told nonchalantly there was no reservation for Sunday night. I hesitated waiting for an offer to allow me a 2:00 checkout time but it wasn't going to be offered. But I was offered the site for another night at the cost of 37.00 which I paid but the thought of paying 37.00 for two hours seemed excessive.

Great family camping trip with the kids and family great folks except watch out for one of the older employees she can get a bit testy otherwise great
